Defining and Naming a Brand: Trevive
Trevive, a housing start-up, is a residential community for those age 55+ who are, and wish to remain, physically and intellectually active as they age. Located in amenity-rich neighborhoods, Trevive offers a choice of services geared to luxury, convenience, well-being, and socialization.
The concept was brought to us by a real estate developer whose passion is affordable housing in urban areas. Our challenge was to name the concept, articulate the brand ideology, and create a logo and design style for visually identification.
The name evolved from the idea that our lives are lived in three acts. As in literature and movies, the third act is filled with action, redemption, and discovery. Trevive is the expression of “third life” with a nod to cultural exploration and diversity.
We defined the qualities of the resident as the “Nexter”. The Nexter lives between now and next. She understands that she will never live long enough to see, learn, and try all of the the things she finds interesting, and will experience as much as she can each day. She embodies in mind and spirit the Trevive age-in-grace philosophy.
